Nomis Power Corp. (“NPC”) was formed in 2003 by Simon Harvey, a real estate developer, Russ Hellberg the former mayor of Port Hardy and Mike Chapin an electrical engineer who specializes in developing power generation projects.

The company's mission is to develop renewable energy projects and bring them into production. We strongly believe in renewable energy and its future not only in wind, but in hydro, biomass/MSW, wave, tidal, geothermal and solar energy. Our subsidiary companies are already pursuing interests in several of the renewable energy sectors. We believe that this fuel mix is sustainable and has a low impact on the environment and will soon be more profitable than any other form of energy production for a long time to come. We must collectively effect substantial changes towards the current consumption patterns and become less dependent on fossil fueled generation plants or the future will be unbearable. This starts with awareness of the problems, a desire to see a change and paying the price for change. The federal government has granted fiscal incentives in a limited capacity towards the development of these resources but this has been done too slowly to notice any widespread adaptation of renewable energy nationwide. If the federal and provincial governments increased their incentives, if financial institutions are given economic incentives to put their clients into such businesses for tax reasons, if rate payers approve cost increases for renewable energy on their monthly bills and if utilities contract power from renewables we will be sustainable.

NPC is a privately held development company and is not listed on any exchange.
